Coding Tricks: Categories Hack with del.icio.us

VERDICT:

Implementation: Easy
Time expended: Considerable
Maintenance: Easy A hassle
Conclusion: Ideal for ultimate control over your tags

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Get an account with del.icio.us.

2. Save these bookmarklets to your browser toolbar for easy access.

3. Copy the title of your post and then click each of your permalinks with the "post to del.icio.us" bookmark. It will open the permalink page to be tagged.

4. Tag each post with logical keywords (or at least the ones you want the categories in).

5. Either create a html list (see the pic) or use del.icio.us's tag generator to produce a list or cloud.

I'd started tagging Strange Machines but will try to complete TechBot's later today.

UPDATE: After 1 day of using this method and not even completing it, I've decided to abandon it and find a better solution. It's a nightmare going back to tag every single post and a hassle to "post to del.icio.us" every time I complete a post.

So the search continues.

I am using that but it can be a bit of a hassle to update it when ever you post.
